The autonomous body of the Diputació de Tarragona, BASE-Gestió d'Ingressos, is celebrating 30 years since its creation. To commemorate this milestone, it is organizing an event on the 5th of June at the Auditori Diputació to take stock and thank the town councils and other institutions it collaborates with for their trust over these years.
BASE-Gestió d'Ingressoss is a self-financed body that provides management, settlement, collection, and inspection services for municipal taxes. It also offers assistance, financing, and advice to all local entities regarding their income matters.
Currently, with the recent incorporation of Ampolla, there are already 179 local entities in the region that have entrusted the management and inspection of their taxes to BASE-Gestió d'Ingressos, a 97% of the total municipalities in Camp de Tarragona, Terres de l'Ebre, and Baix Penedès. It also manages traffic violation penalties for 52 municipalities, processing around 200.000 fines annually, and is responsible for collecting water supply service fees for 115 municipalities in the region. The organization collects around 420 million euros annually, which are directly reinvested in the day-to-day operations of towns and cities.
To make this possible, it has a network of 38 face-to-face service points for citizens, providing assistance, information, and support for carrying out procedures related to income managed by BASE, assistance with income tax returns, updating cadastral and census data, and vehicle information. It has also invested in technology to offer online services and procedures open to taxpayers and other administrations.
Since 2024, it has managed the MOT parking app (formerly Aparcar), which has more than 380.000 registered users and offers online payment for parking zones in the municipalities of Cambrils, Montblanc, Reus, Salou, Tarragona, Valls, Vila-seca, and Girona.
